Major Approval

Major approval is required during the second semester of the sophomore year, of after the completion of 45 credit hours at Fontbonne. For transfer/second degree seeking students, major approval is required after completing 12 credit hours in professional courses at Fontbonne University. If major approval is not granted, the student is required to change majors and is invited to reapply when their cumulative grade point average meets the standard.

Major approval is retained as long as the student maintains a professional grade point average of greater-than or equal-to 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. Should a professional grade point average fall below 3.20 on a 4.00 scale, the student is required to change their major. A student can reapply to the major once their professional grade point average meets the standard. These standards take into consideration all undergraduate coursework taken at all colleges or universities attended.
