EDU 401 - Classroom/Behavior Management Techniques-Middle/Secondary Credit(s): 3 This course addresses theories and principles of behavior management for middle and secondary classrooms. Models of discipline and motivation and their applications to classrooms are a central focus with an emphasis on establishing positive learning environments through the use of appropriate classroom/behavior management techniques. Participants will be required to conduct 30 hours of observations in middle/secondary classrooms, and reflect upon those experiences. A behavior management plan is required of all students. Course is recommended to be taken in close proximity to the student teaching semester. SP Prerequisite(s): EDU 270 ; EDU 269 ; junior status.
