DEA 420 - Emergent Literacy in Deaf Education Credit(s): 2-3 A study of trends, curricular models, lesson planning, teaching strategies, and assessment materials used in teaching reading to the young child with a hearing loss. Topics include storytelling, writing I.E.P. objectives, and identification/remediation of reading problems. Course includes an overview of children’s literature for third credit hour. SP Prerequisite(s): DEA 250 .
