Credit(s):3 An introduction to sports sociology, this course will address the social, political, and economic significance of sports in society. A variety of topics such as race, class, gender, violence, and disability in relation to American sports will be covered. Students will learn theory in analyzing sports and examine research in sports sociology. FA Prerequisite(s):SPT 101; SOC 100.
