CTE 413 - Methods of Teaching Second Language Learners

This course will examine the critical nature of culture (family, community, school, etc.), sociolinguistics, demographics, values and beliefs that affect individuals’ abilities to become proficient speakers of English. Cultural (family, community, school, etc.) and linguistic diversity will be embraced and celebrated because of the richness it brings to an individual’s life. Students will acquire and apply appropriate and effective teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of ESOL individuals in the K-12 environment. TBA
